To all the athletes & who became New LAVBC members this week!

We look forward to having you and your families competing with us in the 2019-2020 season!

BEACH VOLLEYBALL IS NOW A NCAA SCHOLARSHIP SPORT. Nearly 1,500 athletes competed in collegiate beach volleyball in the 2018 season.

Los Angeles Volleyball Club focuses on elite training for young players with a desire to reach collegiate and professional levels of competency within the sport.

Founded by University of Hawai’i All-American and ‘1000 Kill Club’ member Jason Olive, and co-directed by German Youth National Team member and collegiate Hall Of Fame member Stephanie Voelckers (USF) LAVBC takes a ‘whole-athlete’ approach to the game. Success in athletics, academics and an attention to community service are the hallmarks of an LAVBC athlete.

Volleyball is simply a mode through which we express the way we do things. The way does not change. The mode changes many, many times throughout the day. In this sense, the game of volleyball is not the most important thing we teach- LAVBC

In addition to our Travel Team, Los Angeles Volleyball Club focuses on getting players better through flexibly scheduled and affordable clinics. A Clinic Club™ is a non-affiliated volleyball organization where players at all levels, and who may belong to traditional clubs or other organizations for competition, can come for specific one-on-one or group training. This is great for children preparing for club try-outs in the future or for stand-out players looking to get in-depth technical knowledge.

One of our goals is to offer a financially feasible alternative for young children and those who are still trying to get good enough to join competitive club competition. Another reason for LAVBC Clinic Club™ is to give players the higher-level technical training they may be missing out on with their current coaching.

LAVBC was founded by two time All American Jason Olive to provide players and families with a flexible option to pursue both beginning and in-depth volleyball training. Welcome to the first CLINIC CLUB™!

Jason, known to his friends as 'J.O.', was born and raised in the heart of Los Angeles, California where he competed in the State Finals while at St. Bernard's Highschool. His senior year he also qualified for his first professional tournament - The Manhattan Beach Open.

Jason, then played on a full scholarship at the University of Hawai'i at Manoa.  While at Hawai'i Jason set many school volleyball records, was awarded the inaugural Governor's Award for Academic Excellence, was named the University's top Scholar-Athlete, received the Jack Bonham Award for academic excellence, athletic accomplishment and community service all while being a member of the Deans List every year and leading The Hawai'i Rainbow Warriors to their first appearance in the NCAA Final Four. His team was so exciting to watch, they set the world-wide attendance record for the sport at over 10,000 people a game!

Along the way JO was trained by some of the best volleyball coaches in the world from California, Hawai'i and Japan. Jason also has trained in other forms of movement like Budokon and Jiujitsu and he uses this knowledge to inform the unique way he approaches the sport.

Coach JO is a USA Volleyball IMPACT, Safe-Sport and Virtus certified coach. He has also completed the Peaceful Parenting Program at Play Mountain Place, the Protect The Children program through Notre Dame Academy as well as the LA 84 Positive Coaching Alliance Program and holds an Amateur Athletic Union Double-Goal Coaching certificate. Eight of the nine members of his U11 All-Star City Team are comprised of LAVBC members. Recently this team became the first Los Angeles All-City All-Star Champions and were honored by the City of LA for their tournament play. Jason, is also the Director of Volleyball at St. Bernard Highschool and Founder of the Jayo Foundation.

"Volleyball is not a complicated sport but it is a very complex one. My passion is passing down the many lessons of movement and mastery I have learned, from some of the world's best coaches in volleyball and beyond, to children in a way that makes competition, in anything they do, a fun, process-based adventure.  At LAVBC we instill in our young athletes a comprehensive understanding of, not only the sport but of the foundations of learning and mastery itself. Some of our kids have received D-1 VB scholarships. Some of them currently work for NASA. They can take their LAVBC lessons anywhere." - Coach JO
