We recommend The Talent code to anyone involved in sports or raising a long athlete. The Talent Code speaks to the core of math LAVBC believes to be the infinite potential of children to reach whatever goals they might have for themselves.

From a volleyball specific standpoint this book touches upon why we train our 8 year olds the same way we train our high school players getting ready to move on to Division-1 volleyball.

Many parents talk about how much improvement they see in their players from one year to the the next. This book illuminates why we are able to transform long players so quickly - they are wired for it!

The Captain Class is a fascinating take on ‘what makes teams great’. Captain Class takes particular focus on a select number of sports teams in history who are defined by astronomical winning percentages of ten years or more.

Among the teams The Captain Class focuses on is the Cuban Women’s National Volleyball Team. This team was nearly unbeaten through 12 years of world competition. A run that included 3 Gold medals and a world Championship record of 31-1.

The Captain Class provides parents with some insight as to what LAVBC looks for in its team Captain: 1. Dogged determination to put their best effort forth 2. Focus on service to their teammates and club 3. An unflinching ability to communicate with their team.
