Volleyball Tournament Travel Policy & Rules U14-U16

Objective:

The following guidelines are established to ensure the safety, well-being, and efficiency of volleyball players during travel to tournaments. Adhering to these rules will foster a positive and successful tournament experience for all team members.

1. Travel Arrangements:

  • Players are expected to adhere to the provided itinerary and communicate any concerns or issues promptly.

  •  Players are to travel in the team van provided for by the club. 

  • Players Traveling to and from Vegas in the team van will meet at Mar Vista Park, and the van will depart at 10 AM. 

2. Accommodation:

  • Coaches will give players room assignments when checking into the hotel. There will be no changes in room assignments.

  • Players are expected to respect hotel policies and guidelines regarding noise, cleanliness, and other regulations. 

  • No playing of music/tv past 9 PM

  • Players are not to leave Hotel floor unless given permission by Coach

  • Phones will be turned into coaches at time indicated on the itinerary. 

  • Each team will have a designated “QUIET/STUDY ROOM” that will be a room with “library” level quietness that will give players a space to unwind and relax if their assigned rooms are not of that caliber. 

  • Players are expected to respect the wishes of room tennants. 

3. Transportation:

  • Transportation to and from the tournament venue, dinner, and or any other location will be provided by the team.

  • Players are expected to be punctual for all departure times to avoid delays.

  • Players are to respect transportation vehicles and keep them as clean as possible. 

4. Conduct and Behavior:

  • Players are representatives of LAVBC and must uphold a high standard of behavior at all times.

  • Players must always stay with their team at ANY location including tournament play and if needed will travel in groups of 3. 

  • Players adhere to phone turn-in, room turn-in, and lights out times provided by your coach. 

  • Respect for teammates, opponents, coaches, officials, and spectators is non-negotiable.

  • Any behavior that brings discredit to the team or violates the rules and regulations of the tournament will not be tolerated.

5. Health and Safety:

  • Players must prioritize their health and well-being throughout the duration of the trip.

  • Proper hydration, nutrition, and rest are essential for peak performance.

  • Injuries or health concerns should be reported to the team's coaching staff or designated personnel immediately.

6. Equipment and Gear:

  • Players are responsible for ensuring they have all necessary equipment and attire for the tournament, including uniforms, shoes, kneepads, etc.

  • It is recommended to carry essential personal items in a secure bag or backpack.

7. Team Meetings and Activities:

  • Attendance at team meetings, practices, and other scheduled activities is mandatory unless excused by the coaching staff.

8. Compliance with Tournament Regulations:

  • All players must adhere to the rules and regulations set forth by the tournament organizers.

  • Familiarity with tournament guidelines, game schedules, and competition rules is crucial.

9. Communication:

  • Effective communication is essential for the success of the team.

  • Players should promptly relay any concerns, questions, or issues to the coaching staff or team manager.

10. Representing the Team:

  • While traveling and participating in the tournament, players are ambassadors of the team and must conduct themselves accordingly.

  • Positive interactions with fellow competitors, organizers, and spectators reflect positively on the team's reputation.

11. Acknowledgment:

  • All players must read and acknowledge their understanding and agreement to abide by these travel policies and rules before departure.

Adherence to these travel policies and rules is essential for the smooth operation and success of our volleyball team during tournaments. Any violations may result in disciplinary action as deemed appropriate by the coaching staff and LAVBC Administration which may include things like loss of playing time, suspension, or tournament expulsion.
